  long running radio show on board to help us with performances. Peter lived in Wellingborough so was often a regular visitor to the school and later became our chief narrator at one of our Christmas productions – he had such a lovely voice and was a lovely man. The Centenary day itself was great fun and very memorable. I remember Father Paul, from All Saints Church, acting as my escort. I also remember going to see Mum and Dad after school that day, still dressed as Queen Victoria. Ringing their bell, they were taking an age to open the door when a coach, full of workers from the nearby Weetabix factory, parked outside. Their faces were a picture when I treated them to a royal wave! Mum and Dad were amused too!
Like Peter Gadd, Father Paul was a regular and welcome visitor at the school and we often went to All Saints Church at Christmas to have our Christmas Services. One particular year that will always stand out was when we lost Jesus! We had
been to the church the day before to
have a rehearsal and ensured all the
props were in the right places, to be
handed out at the right times. The
service started and Jesus was about
to be born. A baby doll should have
been carefully pushed along the
stage to where Mary was sitting with
Joseph.
Suddenly, voices from the wings...
“Miss, Jesus has gone, we can’t find Jesus! Where’s Jesus? Miss, we can’t find Jesus!”
Quick thinking was needed here! I recalled that one of my pupils had
