British Army Warrior Fitness. The station gym has seen an uplift of new infrastructure and equipment which has increased the amount of users in the evenings. Having lost amalgamated status for sport for 33 / 101 Engr Regt, for the rst time in a long time the Regiments competed in various sports as individual regiments, only retaining the amalgamation for rugby. Not without its constraints, it has not prevented either regiment from entering into most sport competitions whether it is regionally or army level. A huge success for boxing, the Station laid on a high pro le event “Battle of Stamford Bridge” at Chelsea Football Club, a rematch of last year’s RE V RA, which saw the RE, this time, come out victorious. Overall the event rose over £50,000 for charity, which was split between The Phoenix Fund (EOD specialised charity) and Autism Research. The RAPTC, again, displayed a very professional and impressive image whilst they of ciated at the event.
A turbulent time ahead as A2020 re ne will see 33 Engr Regt gain another squadron and 101 Engr Regt will return to London as an Army Reserve regiment once again. The regular element of 101 Engr Regt will become 35 Engr Regt around June 2018.

Announced in the rebasing strategy, Carver Barracks will close around 2030, so very interesting times looking onwards for the service personnel, their families and the local community.
