Physical development, adventurous training and sport remain key factors in regimental life at the KRH. This year it has been very much business as usual with the continuous task
to maintain high levels of physical tness across the regiment, which is easier said than done when dealing with such a hectic FOE.
Despite the hectic FOE, adventure training and sport continue to thrive within the unit with a ourish of positive success stories across the board. Many expeditions have been conducted over the past year with many soldiers taking part in skiing, snowboarding and scuba diving. Fortunately many of the AAPTI’s were able to get themselves involved with the activities.
Most notably on a sporting front, 21 members of the regiment embarked on the challenge to complete 24 hours of continuous sports. The sports were played back to back for an hour each and consisted of the basketball, football, hockey, handball, lacrosse and volleyball. This format was then repeated 3 times to establish 24 hours of continuous sport.
The game plan was simple; start slow and steady. This was completely ignored from the offset as every single member of both teams went full throttle. 19 Hours into the event and everyone

involved were still playing like their lives depended on it. Soon after this point there was a noticeable drop in energy levels and fatigue had nally kicked in, gameplay slowed down and there were people all over the gym trying to catch up on sleep using crash mats as beds. Competitive spirit and determination drove us all with all 21 participants completing the event which helped rise over £2500 for the Soldiers Charity.

Busy is the new norm! This has certainly been the case since taking over the reins in January 17. Royal Lancers have accomplished a lot of objectives in a short period of time
with the Peto Cup and Inter Squadron Boxing competitions being the highlight of March 2017.
B Squadron was victorious in battle and crowned winners on the night. The UK North Boxing circuit is an awesome environment to be part of.
The boxing has been of a very high standard and the RAPTCIs have dug out blind to host and accommodate the of cials. The region is thriving and the turn out for the next generation of coaches and of cials on the boxing courses concentration was outstanding.
