and a Christmas party with the Allegra choir – festive drinks compulsory! This was along with many other great talks and social get togethers. We formed a skittle team and now play in the league. We sponsor the window box in front of the Town Council Office, and you can catch us serving teas and homemade cakes at every session of the Town’s Movie Matinées.
The coming year promises to keep up with that packed programme – our plans include a talk by ‘Ganders Goats’, recently featured on BBC Look East, some lessons in line dancing, a summer celebration, a talk by
the volunteer bikers on ‘Blood, Bikers and Babies’, a great presentation on beadmaking as part of our entry in the Thrapston Arts Festival, and you will find us in the Plaza serving teas at the Charter fair .
But setting aside all of this, it pales
against the offer of friendship, fun and togetherness that you will find when you come to Thrapston WI. The welcome is true and sincere and offers a valuable enrichment each month for every woman no matter what their needs and circumstances.
