covered was made up of group rides of varying distances ranging up to 80 miles. In addition, the team conducted specific race training; this included longer sustained efforts, hill climbing and 2 individual time trials.
Female Road Cycling Team
It is great to see the female team have brought some new riders into the fold and are looking forward to regaining the Inter Corps title in 2019 as the RAPTC female focus group has taken cycling forward as one of 4 chosen sports for 2019. WO2 (QMSI) C Mason contitnues to ride and excel as part of the professional ladies race team, Storey Racing.
Army Road Cycling Race Teams – Representation 2018
The RAPTC were very well represented in the Army Road Cycling Teams for 2018. Everyone added real value throughout the domestic sporting calendar; participating in National and Regional events across the UK. Disappointingly the men’s Inter Services Road Cycling Championships was abandoned this year due to inclement weather. However, the female team retained the winning title. The female team also won both the Cotswold Leage Team Time Trial as well as the Silverstone 9up Team Time Trail.

both standard and numbers year on year. The league has a three- tier system that has a keen policy to develop riders at grass root level. The A league is for the elite riders and is open to men and women riders who have been accredited and have earned 40 points or more during the ACRRS season. The B league is for men and women riders who have been accredited as capable to be B league riders and have earned 22 points or more. The C league is for male riders only who have limited racing experience and have not progressed through the Corps coaching accreditation. The ACRRS is highly competitive in all three leagues and is a great place to test your personal fitness, refine your bike handling skills, meet likeminded people; whilst having some serious fun on a sports afternoon!
