news that they would be crowed UK North Minor Unit and Army Minor Unit Sports Trophy Champions for the second successive year and had been invited to the Army Sports Awards, recognising the Colleges sporting achievements as a collective.
In short 2015 has proved an outstanding sporting year for the JS and PS of AFC (H) which I hope will continue through into 2016. Unfortunately I will be moving on at the end of the year but with SSgt Lee Addison taking the helm I am con dent that AFC (H) will achieve just as much if not more and be crowned the Minor Unit Sports Trophy Champions for a third successive year.
Hell week as it is known at the AFC is the busiest time for Fox

Coy as we start the week with
the Inter Platoon Endurance
Competition (Mallon Trophy),
and concludes with the
spectacular AFC (H) Junior
Soldier Boxing Competition.
The endurance competition is
a culmination of all the physical
and mental skills learned while
in training here at the College.
The competition consists of
a swim in military fatigues,
timed obstacle course,
casualty evacuation and a
medical treatment stand
amongst other elements. It
is constantly evolving and is
shaping up to be better and
better with every intake. The Junior Soldier feedback after each competition is always extremely positive and they thoroughly enjoy the combination of all the different military elements (the positive comments from the JS are mostly post competition, as the majority are simply glad to be nished!)
The nale of the week comes in the form of the AFC (H) Junior Soldier Boxing Competition. The Army Foundation College holds biannually a College Boxing Evening so that both intakes get the opportunity to show their skills. The interest was incredibly high with 120 Junior Soldiers wanting to box. Under the close eye of OC Fox Company Maj (MAA) Hendrickson MBE at the rst box off he managed to match up 40 potential bouts. With the training programme busy with battle camps and range packages, it was going to be tight completing the next box off however this was

organised and ran ef ciently under the watch of newly posted in WO2 (QMSI) Marc Murphy. The next selection was then whittled down to the 12 bouts that are required for the boxing event.
We started the evening off with a Permanent Staff bout with Fox Company’s very own Sgt (SI) ‘Rich’ Moody against Capt Kelly. This was an extremely hard fought bout which set the standard and tone of the evening as each bout thereafter was of high quality. Josh ‘The Leeds Warrior’ Warrington, a local lad from Leeds who is currently the undefeated English, British, Commonwealth and European Featherweight Champion was the guest for the evening. This is the second event Josh attended at the AFC and he thoroughly enjoyed himself and was impressed with the Junior Soldiers not only in the ring, but also the supporter’s outside as the roof was lifted for every bout.

Is that really 3 years up!!!!
Well that time is come again to put pen to paper and re ect on the goings on of another year past! The MBS calling notice always serves as a reminder that time continues to y, I’m another year
older and another year Greyer!! The pace of life here within Sword Company has showed no signs of slowing since my last MBS offerings, gone are the days of Sword Company being a sleepy Hollow with minimal foot fall! By the time the
MBS goes to print in my estimation is that the Company will have processed around 1500 recruits for rehabilitation, remediation, initial medical assessment deferral or recruit discharges! New initiatives have seen the start of weight
