II. RATICINALE

The career development and job placement service, which is one of the
guidance services, aims to assist students in their caresr planning and their
career preparation. Before starting the journey of the real world of work, students
need to know what direction they plan to go and what job they want to take
basing from their interests, qualifications and their values. Unexpected
circumstances can happen during the whole career planning process, just like the
current experience of the COVID-I9 global pandemic. This has significantly
affected job related plans and hindered the start of the career journey of most
people, especially new graduates. However, even if that's the case, the Guidance
and Counselling Centre sees opportunities despite the circumstance and it
believes that the momentary pause of things can be an opportunity for
preparation and thorough career planning for the graduating students. After
finishing college, students rush in obtaining a job and sometimes they don't have
time pausing and thinking about the importance of their first joh in the whole
direction of their career.

To assist the graduating students, a soft-copy of the Job Hunter's Kit which
contains information on how to prepare their resume, application letter, tips on
interviews, and their basic rights as future workers will be given. Other
information and pointers that will assist them in their planning for their first job
and some thought provoking articles will also be included in the Job Hunter's kit.
