The Resume
             Functions:

                    1. To summarize the applicant’s credentials.

                    2. To serve as a guide in evaluating the applicant’s qualifications and achievements.
                    3. To serve as a marketing tool to project the applicant’s employability.

             Packaging Application Letters and Resumes

                    A. Use prime quality bond paper, preferably white.
                    B. Type or computer print neatly your letter and resume.

                    C. Avoid using unnecessary graphics.
                    D. If mailed:
                           - use a business envelope
                           - put your full name and return address on the envelope
                           - the addressee and address on the envelop should be the same as that used
                              in the inside address of the letter except when “Through” is used, and if the
                              letter has a “Through”, use the “Through addressee and his/her address

                                    on the envelop.
                    E. If hand forwarded:
                           - use either a business envelop or a presentation folder;
                           - if a business envelope is used, follow the instruction under D and;

                           - if presentation folder is used, use earmarks to indicate the various parts of
                                  the resume.
                    F. Keep the whole package of application papers neat and visually appealing.


             GUIDING PRINCIPLE IN RESUME WRITING

             ALL information you present in your resume must be truthful, factual and accurate

             ALWAYS.

             RESUME TIPS

             · Use Titles or Headings that match the jobs you want.

             · Use design that grabs attention (keep it formal)

             · Create content that sells.
             · Quantify and use power words.

             · Analyze ads and job descriptions to identify key words.

             · Identify and solve Employer’s hidden needs.

             ·  Sell the benefits of your skills.

             · Create an image that matches the salary you want.

             · Prioritize the content of your resume
             · Tweak and target your resumes and cover page
