CHAPTER 3
DETECTION SYSTEM AND ALARMS
1. A detection system is a system of devices and alarms that detect changes in an
area's condition, such as entry or movement.
2. These systems reduce a company's reliance on on-site security guards, as they
cannot be at all stations simultaneously.
3. Closed-circuit television can be used to monitor corridors, entrances, or other
areas. When used with a videotape recorder, closed-circuit television provides the
firm with a record of events for later review.
