Bringing the Concept to Life

On this occasion, I would like to express my admiration for the talent, skills
and dedication with which the Director-General of the UPU, Mr. Thomas
Leavey, is leading the Organization to find new opportunities for developing a
dynamic and highly efficient global postal services. I highly appreciate his close
cooperation with the UN Headquarters in Geneva. The choice of Geneva as a
venue for some important UPU events provides the opportunity for all
diplomatic communities and a panoply of international organizations in
Geneva to contribute to the UPU's activities, and to learn from its positive
experience.

In conclusion, I wish you every success and pledge my full support in your
efforts to advance the goals of the UPU for all the people of the world.
