GRAND PRIX OF BERNE :
AN EXAMPLE OF OUR COLLABORATION WITH CITÉ
SENIORS

Our collaboration with the Cité des Seniors has entered a new phase - together we
have succeeded in building a strong, solid and close-knit team made up of some of our
retirees, the people of Geneva and the City of Geneva through its Cité des Seniors. This
wonderful collaboration was particularly strengthened during the Grand Prix de Berne
event, which took place on 18 May 2024, and where we were so happy and proud to be
part of the Cité Seniors Genève (Ville de Genève) team.
This annual race takes place in the capital of Switzerland, which, as you know, is a
UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for its breathtaking architecture,
picturesque streets, historic sites and vibrant culture. The Grand Prix de Berne is more
than just a race, it is a celebration of sport multiplied by a sense of belonging and unity
(being together), added to a cordial atmosphere and a beautiful and unique setting. It is
often called and known as the most beautiful ten miles in the world, because the
race takes place past some of the most important monuments in the country's capital:
the Bear Pit, the Zytglogge clock tower, the iconic Kornhaus bridge and along the banks
of the River Aare. Although this course is one of the most picturesque, it is also one of
the most difficult in Europe. But the crowd - the spectators - will greet you cheerfully and
cordially on the course, encouraging each of you personally, by name, and that will
inspire you and give you the moral support you need to cross the finish line with the
