About Soroka Medical Center
Soroka Medical Center is one of the leading and largest hospitals in Israel. It serves as a tertiary medical center and level one trauma center.
Soroka provides medical services to the 1.2 million residents of the Negev, a region that comprises more than 60 percent of the country’s land
area. Soroka is a strategic asset for the State of Israel and the country’s “iron dome” of health in routine times and during emergencies.
Soroka is a center of excellence in many domains, among them pediatric care for the 400,000 children of the region. It is also a leader in trauma
care, serving as the regional trauma center. Soroka’s cardiology, brain, and oncology divisions are leaders in their fields, performing state-of-
the-art procedures and setting new standards for research and medical care in Israel.
Soroka is known for its excellent clinical care and leads the country in many areas including Genetics, Maternity, Infection Control and Emergency
Care and preparedness.
Soroka is continuously evolving. Our teams stay abreast of new technologies and techniques in order to maintain our leading position in
providing optimal medical care by investing heavily in research. Our staff members contribute to the publication of 600 academic papers each
year. In addition, we are continuously upgrading and renovating our existing facilities and establishing new ones.
Soroka is entering a period of unprecedented momentum in its development that will include the construction of new buildings, the opening of
new medical services, and the integration of new medical technologies.
