                     3  WRITE two paragraphs about your favorite place. Use the information from your chart in
                         exercise 2 and the description in exercise 1A to help you.

                           WrITING FOcUS       avoiding Misplaced Prepositional Phrases

                           When a prepositional phrase is misplaced, the meaning of a sentence is often
                           unclear. Make sure prepositional phrases are correctly placed in your sentences.
                           ✗  We waited for the boat inside the café. (Meaning: The boat is inside the café.)
                           ✓ We waited inside the café for the boat.



                     4  SELF ASSESS. Read your description. Underline the prepositions of time, place, and
                         direction. Then use the checklist to assess your work.
