Jet-lag on the way over wasn't terrible, we were in pretty good
shape by day two. The way back was another story. It took us
two to three weeks to pull ourselves back together.
In short, I'd do it again in a heart-beat and I'd encourage
anyone with the means and gumption to give it a try. It's a real
eye-opening experience both to the brand and the culture. If
we go again, I hope to see Stuttgart and Frankfurt and
perhaps finish the castle tour and go a bit further south for
the really, really old stuff.

Firstly mentioned in documentation around 1190, it was extended
several times until the 15th century and then redesigned as a castle by
builder Arnold of Westphalia.
This was my favorite castle we visited with layered security including a
drawbridge with a gatehouse, enclosed walkway along the wall , and
additional fortifications between the courtyard and castle center.
