Discovering a source of 93 octane,
non-ethanol gas is like finding the holy grail
(quick--someone tell the Pythons). The often
searched for fuel is located in Boston at
the 94- year- old Davis General. The classic
muscle cars from the area are already 'in' on
the discovery.

The Davis is also home to a robust sandwich menu.
Call ahead and your choice will be waiting for you,
as ours were, along with a selection of general store
brands like Nehi Orange and Strawberry pop, plus
mountains of Moon Pies, " 4 inches in diameter,
covered in chocolate and as big as the moon",
produced since 1917 by the Chattanooga Bakery.

The family owned business prides itself on being the
sort of place where time slows down and in this
peaceful rural setting, NBCC slowed down, too, and
enjoyed lunch at the end of the organized drive.
