DAY 3
The Cost of Not Addressing Fear
If you are busy focusing on the falling bricks, you will
never realize that they are truly stepping-stones you need to
cross over to the next phase of your life.
— Kemi Sogunle
We tend to put all our focus on the negative aspects of fear. But don’t
forget, there are two kinds of fear: a protective, healthy fear (good fear),
and a debilitating fear (bad fear). I have worked with many clients who
have constant internal messages about what is expected of them, and
when they are not able to meet those expectations, they become stuck
in fear, panic, and pain.
We often think our situation is the problem causing the fear we feel,
but in reality, the problem lies in your thoughts. Fear originates in your
thoughts, and then it shows up in your conversations, behaviors, and
attitudes. It’s the first sign that you’re going down. When you are afraid
of both the situation and the solution, you might become paralyzed
and end up doing nothing. That’s paying a high cost for not facing
your fears head-on and letting them become stepping-stones to new
opportunities.
