DAY 4

                             Focus on the Good

The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it.
                                                               — Moliere

If you are like me, you want to live the life you were destined to live.
Fear, along with its family, is here to stay, so we need to learn how to
              dance with both the good fear and the bad. Bad fear says, “Stay down;
don’t get up.” Good fear says, “I am the answer; trust me.” Fear often
shows up disguised as low self-esteem, a feeling of worthlessness, or a
lack of confidence. If left unchecked, it results in a limiting belief system
that impacts every area of our life.

My friend Chana was in basic training for the Navy. One day part
of her training was to jump from the highest platform at the pool into
the water far, far below. Fear attacked her as she looked over the edge
into the deep water, and before she knew it, she forgot all her training.
Standing on the dive platform, looking down she could only see how
              things might go horribly wrong.
Closing her eyes, she forced herself to remember the weeks she

had spent preparing for this dive. She forced herself to remember that
the divers were there waiting to rescue her should anything unex-
pected occur. She repeated her mantra, “1, 2, 3, and go!” and she
              jumped . . .
