Senior Living—Your Seventies
and Beyond

My friend Jackie shared how she feels about conquering her fears of
being in her seventies.
I want young people to know it’s important to live each day like
it’s your last day. I’m going to take my own advice and make
it a point to start living in gratitude for each day. The fact that
my mind is alert means I’m going to continue to give back to
my community. I still believe I can add to my community and
thinking about that makes me feel good. Being a community
activist will be my legacy. I plan to embrace my seventies and
live fully each and every day.
By the time you turn seventy, you’re open; you’ve learned to heal old
wounds. You have more time for inward reflection. With each season of
life there is an opportunity to enter the next passageway anew. As they
say, there’s a time and season for everything under heaven, and there is
a gift in each cycle. And the thread that runs through each cycle is bad
