THAUMA TURGY
STELLA DANG
At dusk,
The lightbulb sings a primal electrical hymn. Keep your gaze far ahead:
It would all come forth in a flash, From horizon to horizon,
Aurora borealis.
This is a song of summons.
Pick the words off the page And watch them writhe, Scrawny things,
Starved lines twisting.
Let them attach to your nerves like Leeches, spiders, snakes. Your naked brain, Medusa.
Your fingers know how to dance, But your brain can’t pick out the tune. Blind and wild they dance,
Deaf and still you sit,
Slouch,
Slump.
