 Sing.
Tear out your strands like rattlesnakes. Shut the world off
And hear your heartbeat echo inside you. Thump. Thump. Thump. Hissssssssssss.
And you linger and you linger and you linger and you linger and you linger.
Building momentum like rushing blood. Thump.
Your breath is the last thing you take in. Hold. Stone-still now.
Thump.
Your thoughts brew into a muddy medley. Let it boil,
Your blood.
Thump.
Scream.
In hissing anger,
Ten million rattlesnakes,
Surging and seething.
Destroy the epiphany,
Destroy the lackluster love letter, Destroy the placid platitudes.
Twist them up,
The scrawny things,
And leave a thin trail of blood in their stead. And leave laughter.
Stain the page with unholy laughter.
Let curses spell out themselves.
Pour the lifeblood of your old words into A newly summoned boundless beast. How eldritch.
How lovely.
