Iraq Stock Exchange’s Annual Report 2023



               Third: Trading Indictors of ISX-Listed Joint-Stock Companies for 2023

               The Iraq Stock Exchange organized 237 trading sessions over the course of the year. This
               number  represents  the  total  available  working  days  in  the  2023  calendar  year  excluding
               observed holidays, and goes 0.4 percentage point beyond the number of held sessions in 2022.


               There are 103 ISX-listed companies representing 8 sectors, which can be summarized as:

                   1.  Banking Sector: Constitutes 42 companies.
                   2.  Telecommunications Sector: Constitutes 2 companies.
                   3.  Industrial Sector: Constitutes 20 companies.
                   4.  Services Sector: Constitutes 11 companies.
                   5.  Hotel and Tourist Sector: Constitutes 9 companies.
                   6.  Agricultural Sector: Constitutes 8 companies.
                   7.  Investment Sector: Constitutes 6 companies.
                   8.  Insurance Sector: Constitutes 5 companies.

               The indicators shown below, regarding the trading of shareholders and investors of various
               classifications, were achieved in 2023. They can be detailed as follows:

                   1.  The number of shareholding companies whose securities were traded reached 91, out
                       of 103 ones.
                   2.  A total of 689,622,894,451 of shares were traded, up 22% from 2022.
                   3.  Shares traded rose 28% in value when compared to the previous year, totaling IQD
                       671,809,958,315.
                   4.  There  were  155920  of  executed  contracts  and  transactions.  By  15%,  that  number
                       exceeds its peer in 2022.
                   5.  During the trading weeks of 2023, ISX60 ended at 893 points, increased by 52% of its
                       achieved closing price in the course of the year that preceded.

               Table No. (1) includes the monthly stock trading indicators for the year 2023, while Table No.
               (2) tracks on a monthly basis the achieved value of the ISX60 market index over the same time
               period.

               Details on buying and selling trading indicators for non-Iraqis appear in Tables No. (3) and (4)
               respectively, while Table No. (8) compares trading indicators for the years 2022 and 2023.
