Iraq Stock Exchange’s Annual Report 2023
1. The Exchange organized 237 sessions to trade in shares of listed companies, registering
an increase of 0.4% by the number of held sessions per annum in comparison to 2022.
2. The number of shareholding companies whose securities were traded reached 91.
3. The volume of traded shares arrived at 689,622,894,451 ones, which is higher by 22
per cent than its counterpart in 2022.
4. The value of those traded shares grew 28% when compared to the previous year, and
totaled IQD 671,809,958,315.
5. 155920 contracts and transactions were executed. That number is greater than its 2022
peer by 15%.
6. The ISX60 market index ended the trading weeks of 2023 at 893 points. Compared to
its 2022 closing price of 585 points, the index increased by 52% in the course of the
subsequent year.
The year 2023 also witnessed many activities, the most important of which are:
1. Organizing an anti-money laundering program for compliance managers of brokerage firms.
That event was held in cooperation with the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing
of Terrorism Office.
2. Organizing the “Qualifying New Electronic Authorized Traders” training program, in which
12 attendees participated.
3. Co-hosting the Trading System Workshop: Portfolio Management - Back Office & OMS via
Zoom communication platform on Oct. 18, 2023, in collaboration with the Egyptian EGID
company.
4. Working with the Direct Financial Network Company (DirectFN) to hold the Trading System
Workshop: Portfolio Management - Back Office & OMS via Zoom communication platform
on Oct. 24, 2023.
5. Holding a training program on T+2 financial clearing and share settlement, and custodian bank
services.
6. A workshop on electronic payment methods for employees of the Exchange and licensed
brokerage firms.
7. Providing training for 557 students of 26 Iraqi universities.
8. Attending the “Iraq Finance Expo” exhibition and conference that took place at the Baghdad
International Fair, and participating in the ISC-organized “World Investor Week” conference
on Oct. 1 , and 2 , 2023.

9. Publishing reports and statistics of the Iraq Stock Exchange on the websites of the Arab
Federation Capital Markets (AFCM) and Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS),
and including them in the composite index of the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) where the ISX
was among the best exchanges in terms of its market index and the average daily trading volume
indicator.
Finally, the Year Book report reviews the Exchange’s plans for 2024.
