Sixteenth: ISX’s Activities within Specialized Organizations
• Arab Federation Capital Markets (AFCM)

The Federation of Arab Capital Markets (AFCM) held its annual meeting on May 8
2023, in the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, Muscat, in the presence of managing
directors of the Federation’s members of Arab exchanges, clearing and brokerage
companies, including the Iraq Stock Exchange. The attendees discussed the agenda of
the meeting, which included the Federation’s annual report for the year 2022, and the
2023 transfer of its presidency from the Bahrain Stock Exchange to its peer in Muscat.
The ISX was chosen as the best Arab exchange in terms of daily trading for the number
of traded shares (average daily trading volume) of 2022 at the Annual Global
Economics Awards, according to the international standards used by the Arab
Federation of Capital Markets, and based upon the Exchange’s trading indicators and
2022 Year Book.
AFCM’s Training and Development Programs
The Federation of Arab Capital Markets organized free training programs in which
employees of the Iraq Stock Exchange participated via the ZOOM platform, as follows:

2. The “Global ESG Landscape” Program, which was held on May 4 2023.
3. The “ESG Regulations and TCFD Reporting” Program, which was held on May

The Iraq Stock Exchange has been a member of the Federation since 2005. The ISX
publishes its reports on the AFCM’s website in Arabic and English, and participates
in the monthly and annual evaluation indicators prepared by the latter.
• Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS)
The Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges held its 37th General Assembly

meeting and Board of Directors elections on Jun. 14 2023 in the Armenian capital,
Yerevan, with the participation of managing directors of more than 20 exchanges
around the world.
The Iraq Stock Exchange also had a virtual presence at the “ConFEAS 2023” Meeting
and Conference via the Zoom platform, which brought together 200 participants.
The ISX has been a member of the Federation since 2005. The Exchange publishes its
reports on the FEAS’s website in English, and participates in workshops to exchange
experiences and to acquire knowledge about mechanisms of emerging and advanced
financial markets.
