Remembering Blanca GarciaIt is with a heavy heart that we pass along the tragic news that our co-worker and friend Blanca Garcia passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer on Sunday, October 8 at the age of 58. Blanca began working for Facilities Management as a Sr. Custodian in 1998. Most recently, she was serving as a Sr. Building Maintenance Worker for the Life Safety Services group. Blanca's loss has been felt deeply by DFSS, but she will be remembered for her warm and generous smile.By all accounts, Blanca was always happy and conducted business with the utmost professionalism. She was a valued co-worker and a better friend, and she is greatly missed.On October 20, 2023 the United States flag on the UC Santa Barbara campus was flown at half-staff in honor and remembrance of Blanca.
