While BIM has been often used for 3D Modeling
primarily focused around design teams doing Clash
Detection, Coordination and reproduction of quan-
tities from Model, most companies are still strug-
gling to register the benefits of BIM on business
Indices. Real potential of BIM remains unexplored
if the information landscape is not mapped at or-
ganizational level and connectivity of information
is assured through the lifecycle of the project. Our
Digital Engineering & Project Management services
aims at mapping of the information workflows
across various projects within the organization and
look at the most critical information that impacts
the organizational performance. This includes es-
tablishing a connected workflow starting from ear-
ly design stage to construction documents to ERP
systems for execution purpose.
At the core of an integrated project are collaborative,
integrated and productive teams composed of key pro-
ject participants. Building upon early contributions of
individual expertise, these teams are guided by princi-
ples of trust, transparent processes, effective collabora-
tion, open information sharing, team success tied to
project success, shared risk and reward, value-based
decision making, and utilization of full technological
capabilities and support. The outcome is the opportuni-
ty to design, build, and operate as efficiently as possible.
In line with the principles of IPD, when we look at the
relevance and the General Construction procurement
practices, an integrated design delivery (IDD) is a focus
area for DGTRA. Under IDD, we look at transforming the
traditional design deliverables to a BIM based simulated
and analyzed design deliverables.
