Rabbi Shlomo Drebin (since 1999)
B.A. Liberal Arts, Rabbinical Seminary of America
M.A. Education, Sacred Heart University
Rabbi Drebin joined Ateres Yaakov after fourteen
successful years as a Rebbe in Fairfield, Connecticut.
In addition to his classroom experience, he spent
many years coordinating extra-curricular activities,
and also directs the Mintz summer day camp. Rabbi
Drebin attended Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim in Queens and
Yerushalayim, has semicha, and a Master’s Degree in
education. Rabbi Drebin is a diplomate of the Torah
Educator’s Institute in Yerushalayim, and a graduate of
the Torah U’mesorah Principal Training Course.
Rabbi Boruch Danzger (since 2014)
B.S. Accounting, Sy Syms School of Business
M.S. Jewish Education, Azrieli Graduate School of
Jewish Education, Yeshiva University
In addition to his academic credentials, Rabbi
Danzger also received semicha from the Rabbi
Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS). He
has previously taught ELA in HAFTR High School and
Yeshiva Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch (Breuer’s)
and currently serves as a Limudei Kodesh Rebbe in
MTA (PTACH).

Mr. Zvika Bornstein (since 2019)
Mr. Zvika Bornstein is a director, producer, playwright and
songwriter in the Jewish entertainment world. He has
written many songs for artists including Gad Elbaz,
Dudu Fisher and Lipa Schmeltzer. Zvika also wrote
and directed original stage plays such as American
Collage, Dibuk and Talent 101, as well as directing many
national tours. His most recent work is Yosef the Musical.
His film credits as producer, director or choreographer
include many Jewish music videos, concerts and shows
viewed by millions internationally and including venues
such as Broadway, Madison Square Garden and Warner
Brothers Television. Zvika’s teaching background includes
teaching Public Speaking at Touro College of Brooklyn, as
well as running an Ulpan program in NYC.
Rabbi Yisroel Finkelman (since 2020)
Rabbi Finkelman attended the Merkaz Center for
Teacher Training. In addition to teaching at MAY, he
teaches 5th grade at Yeshiva Ketana of Queens. Rabbi
Finkelman also appears as a guest columnist in
Hamodiya Magazine.
Mr. Jonathan Weiss (since 2019)
B.A. Film and Television, New York University
M.S. Applied Psychology in Counseling and Guidance,
New York University
Mr. Weiss presently teaches in Touro College’s
Undergraduate Division. The courses that he teaches
there include Theories of Counseling, Developmental
Psychology, Psychological Statistics, Industrial
Psychology, Psychology of Addiction, Therapy,
Interpersonal Communication. Mr. Weiss has
taught English Language Arts at Mesivta Tifereth
Jerusalem before coming to Mesivta Ateres Yaakov as
a teacher of AP Language and AP Literature, as well as
general ELA.
He has worked extensively in various
capacities in social service over several
decades, most recently as the Director of
Vocational Rehabilitation for adults with
disabilities under the auspices of the National Jewish
Council for Disabilities.
