Exercise 7: Check Your Questionnaire


            This  self-check  exercise  is  adapted  from  Activity  47  Designing  Questionnaires  by
            Catherine Dawson (2016).

            Check Your Questionnaire

                 1.  Are questions organized in logical order in your questionnaire?                     

                 2.  Does your questionnaire have an introduction? Does the introduction                 
                     state the research purpose and research topic, the use of results and
                     the length of questionnaire?

                 3.  Does your questionnaire have a conclusion?                                          

                 4.  Do your questions help you to achieve aims and objectives?                          

                 5.  Are your questions clear?                                                           

                 6.  Did you avoid unnecessary long questions?                                           

                 7.  Did you start from easy questions and proceed with more difficult?                  

                 8.  Did you avoid embarrassing questions that could make people give                    
                     false answers?

                 9.  Did  you  explain  all  the  unknown  scientific  terms  in  your                   
                     questionnaire?

                 10. Did  you  avoid  technical  words  or  words  that  can  have  many                 
                     meanings?

                 11. Did you avoid two questions in one?                                                 


                 12. Did you avoid questions that could make your participants feel bad                  
                     (angry, offended or ashamed)?

                 13. Did you present sensitive questions in an indirect form?                            

                 14. Did you avoid vague time words such as “often” or “rarely”?                         
