Exercise 9: Writing a Paper Critique

This exercise is adapted from the exercises 11 and 12 in the book by Catherine Dawson
            (2016).

Basic template for writing a critique of a research paper

When you read the articles of authors who write about your topic, it is important to read
them critically. The following template of a critique of a quantitative research paper is
based on the exercise Critiquing Quantitative Research Papers by Catherine Dawson
            (2016).
This exercise will help you to learn how to review your own paper or papers written by
other researchers. If you liked this template and want to find some additional questions
for paper critique, we recommend you to do Activity 11 and Activity 12 in the book 100
Activities for Teaching Research Methods by Dawson (2016).

            1. Write brief information about the paper author (name and/or title, university, country).

            2. Why did the author want to publish this paper?

            3. Write briefly about how the author conducted the research. Is everything clear to you
about how the research was conducted? If not, write what is unclear to you.
