JURY DUTY
Employees must complete time off forms with jury notice receipt and provide to management for approval upon returning from jury duty leave.
All employees will be given paid time off when they are summoned to serve as jurors. Employees who are summoned to jury duty are eligible to continue to receive their regular base pay (less the amount received from the Court, where allowed by law) during their active period of jury duty, for up to a maximum of 10 working days or 80 hours (or hours associated with their regularly scheduled shifts in the case of part-time employment) per calendar year, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Employees must notify their Supervisor immediately of the summons for jury duty. All Employees: To be eligible to receive jury duty pay, employees must submit a copy of the jury summons plus receipts indicating daily attendance, attached to a Time Off Form, and submit these documents to the Human Resources Department. Employees who fail to submit jury attendance receipts will not receive jury duty pay. Employees are required to provide the Payroll Department with a statement showing the fees received from the Court.
An employee who is required to appear in court as a Witness may take unpaid time off or may use any available vacation or personal hours for such purpose. The employee is required to provide the Human Resources Department with proof of the need to appear.
In no case will the salary of an exempt employee be reduced for any workweek in which the exempt employee works and also misses time to serve on a jury or appear in court as a witness.
An employee will not be discharge or otherwise penalize for taking time off to serve on a jury or trial jury, the employee, prior to taking the time off, gives reasonable notice to the employer of he or she is required to serve per the instructions above.
BEREAVEMENT
Employees must complete time off forms with management approval and supporting documentation prior to taking bereavement leave.
All regular full-time employees who have been employed for a minimum of ninety (90) days can take up to three (3) days off with pay for the death of an immediate family member. “Immediate family” is defined as one’s spouse;
domestic partner; child; parent; grandparent; mother-in-law; father-in-law; brother; sister; step-sibling; step-parent; or step-child. An employee may, with written approval, use any available paid leave for additional time off as necessary. An employee may also request in writing additional unpaid personal time off which must be approved by his/her supervisor and Human Resources.
SICK LEAVE BENEFITS
Employees must submit time off using SkechForce System immediately upon returning from being out sick or from doctor’s appointments. (If no accrual balances, submit Time Off Form to Payroll.) Sick benefit is not to be abused and is for assisting with financial hardship when ill or to care for a family member. Sick benefit cannot be used for vacation/personal time.

California – (Corporate, Sales, Distribution Center employees Only) All full-time, part-time and temporary/seasonal employees who work 30 or more days a year are eligible to accrue paid sick leave. Accrual begins upon hire. Employees will accrue one (1) hour of sick leave for every thirty (30) hours actually worked. Exempt employees will deem to work forty (40) hours per workweek. The maximum number of sick hours that may be accrued per year is forty-eight (48) hours with a maximum cap at any given time of 120 hours. Employees may not use accrued sick hours until they have been employed for ninety (90) days. Unused sick hours will carry over from year to year, but not to exceed 120 hours. Sick hours must be used in one (1) hour increments. Accrued but unused sick hours will not be paid out upon termination of employment. Purpose for sick leave shall be done in accordance with the requirements of applicable law and payment shall be made no later than the payday for the next regular payroll period after the sick leave was taken and submitted in SkechForce.
California – (Retail Store Employees except Oakland/San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Monica, and Los Angeles City employees Only) All full-time, part-time and temporary/seasonal employees who work 30 or more days a year are eligible to accrue paid sick leave. Accrual begins upon hire. Employees will accrue one (1) hour of sick leave for every thirty (30) hours actually worked.
