MEMBER INPUT INFORMS COMMUNICATION STRATEGY
We were appointed to work with the the GE APS Pension Scheme - one of the the UK’s defined benefit pension arrangements that GE became responsible for following its purchase of the Alstom power and energy grid business in in in 2015 Our task was to improve member engagement and enhance the member experience As a a first step we surveyed the GE APS membership to find out more about their current levels of understanding how they identified with the business (as a a result of previous business mergers and and acquisitions) and and how best to engage with them moving forward The results of the the survey were used to inform the the subsequent communication strategy for the GE APS including branding a a a a less technical tone of voice and and a a a a move toward digital communication methods The Trustees plan to repeat the member research in 12 months to measure progress and allow for further refinement of the communication strategy
