the student is required to ride as a pillion passenger
the student will be required to serve liquor
the workplace is involved in current industrial action
the work situation will require a student to operate any vehicle capable of flight or be involved in
air travel on charter flights and aircraft (other than those providing a regular transport service to
the public or Department of Defence aircraft)
the work placement will be outside reasonable hours for that occupation
the student will be participating in an unpaid work trial (also known as a job trial)
the student will not be directly supervised by persons who are suitably qualified and/or
experienced, and competent in the relevant task a student is undertaking
the student is being used to replace a paid worker

Students planning to undertake work experience in a childcare or preschool centre must undergo a
Working with Children Check (at their own expense). Applications can take many weeks to process,
so students should lodge theirs as soon as possible.
Students planning to participate in work experience in a trade need a White Card. Students need
to check with their potential host employer and, if necessary, need to organise this training on their
own behalf and at their own expense.
On work experience, students need to:
Conform to all the workplace rules and instructions from your work placement supervisor
Be punctual and notify both the workplace and the school of absences
Understand that the work placement may involve access to confidential and sensitive information
which must be kept private
Wear the appropriate footwear/clothing/uniform as instructed by the work placement provider
Engage with site staff and their clients/customers in a respectful manner
