Level III Phase 2
These are the User Information and Education Services, Technical
Services and Computer Services.

1. Technical Services – this section is in-charge of collection

development, evaluation, organization, and preservation and security
of library materials in collaboration with the Library Advisory

Committee. Activities include selection, acquisition, cataloging,

classification, collation, mechanical preparation, binding, repair, and

yearly weeding and inventory of library collections.
2. User Information and Education Services- this section

offers reader’s assistance and user’s education to clienteles. It provides

direct access and services to clienteles such as: book loans, reference,
research, on-line services and library orientation. This houses the

following collections:

2.2.1. Circulation/Filipiniana Section- houses the books for

loan out and of general subjects used as reference materials. On the

other hand, the Filipiniana collection of the library houses the books
written by Filipinos or Foreigners Authors featuring Philippine settings,

its history society and culture.

2.2.2. Reference Section- comprises encyclopedias,
dictionaries, handbooks and manuals, maps and globes.

2.2.3. Reserve Section- houses books that are of limited

copies and recommended by the faculty for a specific subject use.

2.2.4. Periodical Section- where newspapers, magazine,
research journals and other ephemeral materials can be found.

3. Computer Services Section- is in-charge of the multimedia

collections such as: films, dvd’s, cd-roms, e.books, e.journals and other
instructional materials, as well as maintaining the electronic library

(eLibrary) section with internet access and computer units in functional

condition and maintaining and updating the JHSCSC Library Integrated
System.
