ADMINISTRATION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
34.6 PURPOSE
The policies and procedures on the administration of the library serve
as guidelines for all library staff in performing their duties and responsibilities
inherent to their position/designation.
2.0 SCOPE
This procedure is applicable to all library staff concerning their functions.
3.0 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

4.0 DEFINITION
4.1 Librarian. This term applies to all professional licensed librarians.
The College Librarian supervises the overall library operation, assumes
responsibility for planning, assigns and reviews the work of subordinates
under direction; exercises authority in directing staff members and does
independent judgment for the smooth operation of the office.
4.2 Library Staff/ Personnel. This refers to all personnel assigned in the
library.
5.0 PROCEDURES
5.1 ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
5.1.1 Supervises, directs and evaluates the operation of the College
Library practice;
5.1.2 Prepares requisition of the new materials for the library with
the recommendation of faculty members and approval by the Library
Advisory Committee;
5.1.3 Promotes the effective use of the library by:
5.1.3.1. Informing the faculty of available library materials, and
5.1.3.2. Instructing students in the effective use of the library
5.1.4 Maintains office hours; and
5.1.5 Performs special assignment as directed by the President.
