             The Search for Purpose

                                                                                     Merin Shaji
                                                                                 (Roll No. 1279)

In a bustling city, a man named David felt lost. He had a stable job but lacked
fulfillment. Every night, he searched for meaning, often reading the Bible. One
verse stood out: Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the

             lost.”

One day, while walking home, David noticed a homeless woman named Grace

sitting on the sidewalk. She looked weary but hopeful. This encounter sparked
something in David. He began to visit her regularly, offering food and conversation.

As their bond grew, David learned about Grace’s past—how she had once been a
teacher but had fallen on hard times. Inspired by her resilience, David decided to
help her find a job. Together, they worked on her resume and practiced interview

             skills.

Weeks later, Grace was offered a teaching position at a local school. Tears of joy

filled her eyes as she thanked David. In that moment, he realized that by serving
others, he had found his purpose.

David reflected on Galatians 5:13: “Serve one another humbly in love.” Through
his journey with Grace, he discovered that the themes of searching for meaning,

saving those in need, and serving others were intertwined. In serving Grace, he
not only helped her find hope but also unearthed his own . Whether through
volunteering, lending an ear to someone in distress, or simply offering kindness,

each act can transform lives. In our own search for purpose, we may find that by
serving others, we create a ripple effect of love and hope. As 1 Peter 4:10 reminds

us, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as
faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
