P. 3
This season we served over 200 vulnerable Phoenix children, providing experiences to nurture healthy development and resilience, foster meaningful relationships, and encourage wilderness exploration. Here is what Camp Colley Foundation scholarships paid for in 2019:
1,533 meals
12 campfires with countless songs sung and spooky stories told
219 round-trips from Phoenix to Happy Jack, AZ
540 hours of intentional, impactful activities facilitated
438 nights slept under the stars
18 equestrian lessons and over 200 horseback rides
450+ s'mores indulged
What's harder to quantify is the positive impact on each camper's social-emotional development and environmental education outcomes. This summer we implemented our first Camp Colley Impact Survey to each of our campers to help us understand the impact of our programming. The chart below shows the percentage increase across each measurement. This information will help us focus our program development and staff training to increase our impact over the coming years.
