The Burial Caves

Close to the ‘Begin Heritage Center’ there are many Jewish burial caves
from the time of the First Temple. In this time (they) don’t bury the dead
inside the city.
(They) put the dead person in a cave, and around the rich dead people
(they) also put talismans and jewelry.
(This) place has seven caves. (We) know that there are very rich people in
the graves, because there’s a great treasure there.
In the time of the First Temple, (they) believe that death is like a long
sleep, and (they) put the dead man’s personal items next to him.
Inside the caves there are children’s necklaces, and inside (them) a little
scroll with a ‘priestly blessing’. The parents want to give the children
blessing and success on (their) last path.
