Women’s Day
All over the world (people) celebrated International Women’s Day and
equality between women and men. But in two thousand eighteen Israel,
there are still things to do. On Independence Day, Israel’s seventieth
birthday, only one woman – Yehudit Bronicki – will receive the Israel
Prize, when the majority of the other winners are Ashkenazi men. Since
the year two thousand only eighteen women won the prize, and out of the
six hundred and ninety six prizes (they) gave out since nineteen fifty three,
(they) only gave a hundred and five prizes to women. (They’ll) give out
two more prizes in the next few days, and maybe (they) will find
outstanding women who can receive them. We hope that next year there
won’t be another story like this.
