Jakarta is Moving
Ten million people live in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Jakarta has
many problems and one of them is the danger of sinking into the Java Sea
by the year two thousand and fifty. The Indonesian government has
decided to build a new capital on the island of Borneo. The problem with
the new city is that in order to build it, [they need to] destroy two thousand
and fifty kilometers of jungle, which is home to many animals. The
construction of the new city also costs a lot of money - thirty-four billion
dollars. But with Indonesia paying four and a half billion dollars a year
for the damage to the city, that price is not so high.
