The Aharon House
Between all the houses in the neighborhood, if you look well, you can find
places with special charm. One of them is the Aharon house on Yehuda
street.
One evening in Russia of the 60’s, Aharon, a Jewish- Russian artist, sat
with his friends and told them: “When I’m 40 I’ll live in Israel. His friends
looked at Aharon, and after a few seconds they all started laughing and
told Aharon that it’s a good joke because there's no chance that this can
really happen.
A few years later, in the summer of 1972 Aharon and his wife Succeeded,
with great luck, to leave Russia and make Aliya to the land of Israel.
Aharon is a little sad that he didn't manage to do as he said, and only
reached Israel at the age of 40 and a week…
Aharon and his wife lived in Jerusalem. Aharon bought a house that was
not expansive, but not in a good condition in the neighborhood of Baqa in
Jerusalem. He bought the house from a different Aharon, and since only
people by the name Aharon have lived in the house since 1948, the house
received the name "The Aharon House”.
At the end of the 80’s a friend of Aharon suggested that he come and help
build an artist’s colony in Sanur in the north of Samaria. Aharon agreed.
Aharon’s wife didn't want to leave Jerusalem, and thus Aharon lived some
of the time in the artist’s colony and some of it in Jerusalem.
Aharon lived in the artist’s colony until he had to leave it in 2005 because
of the disengagement.
Aharon, a known international artist, has won several prizes. He continues
to create all the time, and invites you with pleasure to come and see the
special art in his home.
