Little House in Baka
The house is indeed called "Little House," but it is not small at all.
In 1939, a wealthy Arab family built the house and, like any other fancy
Arab house, they built a large water cistern next to the house. The cistern is
important to store (keep) rainwater for drinking for the people who live in
the house. In 1948, during the War of Independence, the Arab residents of
the neighborhood fled from Baka, and so did the residents of the house.
In 1999 a businessman named Oded bought the house, renovated it and
turned it into a boutique hotel. The large water cistern of the house is now
used as a bar with a special atmosphere.
