Today’s Retirees
When Robert De Niro needs to play a retiree, he doesn’t really know what
it is. Even after having passed the age of seventy he continues to act every
year, mostly in more than one movie at the same time. But let’s face it, De
Niro is no exception. In today’s reality, many seventy year olds aren’t at
all keen to retire. The question is whether they’ll agree to do anything in
order to continue feeling vital. In the new movie The Intern, De Niro plays
a seventy year old widower, a successful deputy CEO who retired and
decides to work at a clothes selling website as an intern, (and) later even as
a personal driver to the great (woman) CEO, a young mother in her
thirties. Women CEOs haven’t been an unusual sight in the business world
for a long time, but it seems that even in two thousand fifteen there are
those who are surprised to see women in these senior positions. But as
stated, it’s not just the CEO at the center of attention, but mostly the senior
intern. Maybe hi-tech companies in real life should embrace this method.
