thought that if she's sick, maybe I should get a seat next to
Sharon, Because Sharon will surely save her a seat. And then,
when I stood and talked with Noam next to the teacher's desk,
Yael came in. I felt as if my heart stopped. I continued
pretending [as if] I was listening to Noam, but actually, I was
looking out of the corner of my eye, and I saw her sit down. She
sat down next to one of my bags.

Suddenly I was filled with such joy that I didn't hear what Noam
said, and I just said [told him] "yes, yes" and nodded as if I am
listening. I wanted to stay there another few minutes, but
couldn't restrain myself and went to my seat.

I walked with indifference as if nothing [didn't] happened and
hoped they couldn't tell [they are not "seeing on me" anything].

But a second before I arrived, Yael suddenly got up and picked
up my bag from the seat next to her. "Whose bag is this?" she
asked and looked around. I said "mine". She looked at me and
then at the bag and again at me.

I don't know why, but suddenly all my courage disappeared.
And all my urge to do it [desire]. I don't know what happened to
me. I simply took my bag, as if it was there by accident [by
chance], and I walked away as if nothing happened.

At least this year I got a good seat by the window…
