Binyan Pa'al – Nouns/Gerund

‫פעל – שם פעולה‬

In Hebrew, we can derive a noun/gerund out of most verbs.

This is called ‫( שם פעולה‬gerund).

Just like the verbs themselves, the nouns are created in a constant
pattern, according to each Binyan.

Since Binyan Pa'al has several groups and many sub groups, we will
concentrate just on the "mainstream" by choosing group 1, sub group 1.
As we know, this group has the sound pattern LEE…O… in the
infinitive form.

Let's see how to derive a noun from an infinitive in this group.

As usual, we drop the ‫ ִל‬and change the sound pattern to '…EE…A
