Mess at the Knesset

Knesset Member Oren Hazan received (some) harsh criticism today, after
(he) was heard at a nightly vote mocking the handicap of Knesset Member
Karin Elharar, who’s confined to a wheelchair. It started at the budget
votes last week, when Knesset Member Issawi Frej voted instead of
handicapped Knesset Member Karin Elharar. Hazan didn’t know, or
ignored the fact that Elharar got permission for this from the (Knesset)
speaker due to her illness. This morning even Prime Minister Netanyahu
publishes a reprimand for the Likud’s Knesset Member number thirty. In a
coalition of sixty one Knesset Members his maneuverability beyond this is
fairly limited. The public turmoil that unraveled brings Hazan to express
(his) apology to Elharar. After eight scandalous months at the Knesset, the
scene yesterday at the assembly won’t raise or bring (him) down. The only
one who can impeach a Knesset Member is the Knesset Member himself.
Hazan has no intention of doing that soon.
