Bethlehem Road
"Bethlehem Road" is a street in Jerusalem. It is called "Bethlehem Road"
after an old road that, in the past, connects the Jaffa Gate to the city of
Bethlehem. It is a very important road that many armies travel on.
In World War II, there is a camp of the British Army on "Bethlehem Road",
called "Al-Alamein Base."
After the British leave the camp, Arabs go into it, but after the War of
Independence, the road returns to Jewish hands.
Today there are cafés, restaurants and beautiful historic houses on
"Bethlehem Road".
