Happy Tu Bishvat

In winter, trees have no flowers or fruits, so why do (we) celebrate the trees’ new year specifically
on Tu Bishvat? Our sages scheduled the trees’ new year in winter because they said that the fruits
begin to grow already now. Our sages put focus on the process, and not on the fruit we eat. And
what about us? Do we have patience for processes? Not always. We always run forward: at school,
in the army, at the university and work. But maybe if we stop for a moment, and learn the patience
for the process from Tu Bishvat, our fruits will be sweeter.
