The Sultan's Pool

In 1517-1917, the Turks rule in Israel.
The Turkish sultan Suleiman builds a large pool for water in
1536. The pool is very big and its depth is more than 10 meters.
The Sultan builds a dam and thus closes off the water in the
pool.
Above the pool, there is a drinking fountain. It is possible to see
the drinking fountain also today.
Today, there is no water in the pool, but it is a very special
place:
There is there a big amphitheater for concerts.
Every summer, there is a big festival in the pool – the
"Jerusalem International Arts and Crafts Fair" Festival.
In the Festival there are exhibitions from all over the world, and
also very good performances of Israeli musicians for an
inexpensive price.
