The Jerusalem Theater
In [the year of] 1964 (they) built the Jerusalem Theater in the beautiful
neighborhood of Talbiya. At that time life in Israel was hard and
people didn’t have time and money for a cultural life. At the
emotional opening ceremony, the Minister of Education spoke. He
said that the theater is the hope of educators in Israel to give the
children, and all the people in Israel, the opportunity to enjoy art and
culture.
Today a lot of people, youth and children, come to the theater to see
many plays, dance recitals, music (concerts) and movies. One can sit
at the theater’s café and enjoy the different exhibitions (mounted) on
the theater’s walls. The dream of educators in Israel has come true!
