Foreword

Shalom from Yoel and Orly, the developers of a
                                          unique language learning methodology RLA
(Rapid Language Acquisition) and founders of

Ulpan-Or, where students learn Hebrew at the
                                          speed of light.

Welcome to our Hebrew Experience - introductory level interactive study
kit, which is part of our iHebrew™ comprehensive program designed for all
            levels and ages.

We believe that by keeping this study kit with you wherever you go, whether
having its hard copy, or an electronic copy stored on your mobile device,

will help you enjoy learning Hebrew, gain confidence and be able to use
your newly acquired vocabulary with ease.

First, we would like to share with you our recent experience with foreign

            languages.

A short-while ago we happened to spend a few days

in Greece. It was the first time we found ourselves
in a country, where the sound of the language,
unlike previous experiences, was totally unfamiliar

to us. We felt a bit strange not being able to say even
a simple greeting, ask for anything in Greek.
Although, a lot of people were able to handle a simple conversation in

English, there was this usual invisible wall of politeness separating a tourist
from the local people. We were longing to be able to get closer and better
understand the culture and history of the people in Greece.
We were angry with ourselves not coming prepared for this trip. After all,

having taught Hebrew for so many years, knowing how our students felt in
Israel coming without any knowledge of Hebrew, we should have
anticipated something similar for ourselves in Greece and be prepared for it.

Then, at the hotel we got courageous enough to ask several members of the
            staff:
“How do you say - good morning, thank you, hello, what’s your name?
            etc..” in Greek.
