The British History of the Russian Compound
In 1917, the English built in the "Russian Compound":
1) A police station
2) A court house
3) A prison
In the prison there were thieves, murderers, and also political prisoners,
mainly Jews. The prison was a small place but the English put in there
sometimes even 550 prisoners.
